My daughter is 5 1/2 months and still doesnt crawl yet. she sita alone, and she rolls over ans turns in circles. She gets where she wants to go, but she doesnt crawl yet. My husband was one of those babys who never crawled, he just walked. I am not too concerned, i am just curious as to when your baby started to crawl or if they were one of the few who didn't.

My son didn't start "crawling" until around 6 months or so. And even then, he did the "army scoot," not really crawling! He would put one arm out in front of him, like a soldier, and pull the rest of his body along. It was quite amusing!

My son still hasnt crawled and hes turning a year old in 2 weeks. hes started walking with our help. It just all depends I guess on the baby and when they want to. He will roll around to get himself to where he wants to go too but other than that I think hes just going to skip the crawling haha.

my daughter is 7 months and she has only started to roll over and reach out for her toys i have been to the doctors and spoke to my health visitor and they both aid it is fine babys do things at there own pace but i am worried shorly she should be sitting up and probably crawling by now

I gave both my sons lots of tumy time on the floor from when they were born. I woud play with them on the floor and get ground level with them. Once they started reaching and grabbing things I would put them on their tummys and put stuff that attracted their attention. I would put it just out of their reach but not so far that they could roll, they would have to scoot forward. This started them crawling around 4 months. To help strengthen them for walking, I would put them on their backs and have them grab my fingers and pull themselves up to a sitting position and eventually to a standing position. Its just a matter of exercising and if baby wants to do these things. I hope this helps.

One more thing - Every baby is going to develope at his/her own pace. You can't push it so quit worrying. What you can do is get down on the floor with your baby and try crawling with him/her. or on yuor tummy and spend "tummy time" eye to eye as it were. They will learn faster, and enjoy it more cause mom is doing it with them.

My kids are having kids! I will add this though. It is imparitive that children learn how to and practice crawling. Please moms,no walkers! no shortcuts on this. The left and right sides of the brain is learning how to comunicate as your baby learns how to crawl. This is imparitive for other acedamic developement later.

My son never crawled, he rolled.. he's 3 now. My daughter is 7 months old and still not even rolling over yet, much less crawling. I wouldn't be too concerned.

My daughter only crawled at nine months of age and got around by rolling around from the time she was five months old. She started crawling one day when she batted a ball she was playing with across the room and wanted it back...she just took off after it. My boy on the other hand crawled when he was six months old - mind you I think he did it to follow his sister more than anything. My brother never crawled...he used to drag himself around on one butt cheek and graduated from there to walking......different kids....different timetables and all perfectly normal. And thank you for asking a positive question that cannot have anyone bashing anyone's refreshing.

my son is the same age. he tries by kicking his legs and such but hasn't gotten on his hands and knees yet. don't worry about it. most babies don't crawl until anywhere between 6 and 8 months of age. a baby crawling at 5 months would be early!

My son is six months today!! HATES tummy time, since day one, but he tolerates it now. Learned to roll from back to tummy first, then tummy to back, but has only rolled to the right and will get stuck against a wall, LOL. The past two days though he has forgotten how to roll at all. He's nowhere near crawling! He can support himself sitting for about 30 seconds or so, and he LOVES the jolly jumper. I can see him being one who doesn't crawl at all.

They usually try between 6 and 10 months, but my daughter was 11 months and started walking soon after. My mum says I didn't crawl but went straight to walking. There are a few different types of crawling, and you can encourage them by putting toys or yourself just out of reach. Make sure your home is babyproof before they start though, as once they do they don't stop and they can be like lightening lol! Cherish the time when they can't move around - you won't have a minutes peace after hehe! Seriously though, its lovely when they do start moving, especially when they just want to chase you all the time!

My son didn't crawl at all; he just scooted, and probably around 9 months or so. I read an article by a pediatrician that said he just likes to see some kind of horizontal movement (crawling, scooting, etc.) by age 10 months.

My little girl just turned 6 months today and she doesn't sit unsupported yet and has not even attempted to crawl!! She hates tummy time though and loves to stand so I guess we'll see what happens!

My oldest son did not start crawling until he was 8 months old. Then he started walking the day after he turned 10 months.

My youngest is 11 months old. He army crawls. He actually can crawl but he prefers not to. He stands and sits and all that. Just doesn't like to crawl.
