My daughter is 15 weeks and she now cries all day and most of the night unless she is being held upright! Does this sound like a gasiness problem? She is breast fed so I'll try the chamomile tea

My daughter had colic for months and she cried all the time. My mother-in-law shared the only cure that worked every time - ear plugs.

I work for a pediatrician's office and the physician assistant gave me a little tip. Your baby girl probably has colic and she told me to get some drops called "Little tummies" Gripe Water. I would put the indicated amount into my baby's milk and all the crying that also started to make me cry just STOPPED!! Those drops were a life saver and they are safe because it's from the Little Noses line of products for infants. They also work for hiccups too! After around 4 months, I didn't need them anymore. Hope this helps.

try getting a sling, wrap or carrier..If you get a carrier I would suggest an Ergo since it could be used for a lot longer than other infant carriers..if you do the wrap easy as getting 5-6 yards of fabric about 30 inches in width and go to youtube and find vids on how to tie it...you could easily find slings on http://www.etsy.com/ for a good price...it will get better..you could never hold a baby too much..they are only a newborn once enjoy it!

I hate to say this, but you just may have a high needs baby. I went thru this with my first, taking her to the doc, "colic", etc, but she is still pretty needy @1. The chamomile tea, though, will help her relax if she is gassy. Don't take Omega-3, because your milk has plenty. When I stopped doing that, she cried less during nursing times.

If you are breastfeeding, it may be something you ate that upset the baby. I've had several colicky babies, and the best thing we found was to use an infant glycerin suppository. This helps to relieve that gas as they push the suppository out. If you don't have a suppository, use the end of a rectal thermometer and put a little vaseline on it and barely hold it in the baby's bottom. Sounds gross, but it really does work!! Believe me, I had 10 babies and the first was really colicky. A pediatric nurse told me about this little trick, and it helped me through the colicky times. Drink chamomile tea, too.

It may be a growth spurt where she is working to increase your milk supply (if you are breast feeding). However if you are concerned she is unwell see your doctor. Growth spurts where infants are often unsettled and want to feed all the time is natures way of increasing your milk supply. So rest as much as you can and drink lots to aid in this process. However never discount an illness and please get her checked if you are worried.
