My child is 5 yrs old and she cries for any little thing, this has been a habit from when she is born, as a mother i have given her all the attention she should have, but still for any type of day requirement she would cry and ask for it, what should i do to help her not to cry for petty matters.

Stop reacting to her crying. If she gets any attention from it then it will continue. Let her know that she's not a baby and she can use her words then walk away. Don't talk to her or acknowledge her in any way until she stops crying and uses her words.

It's only become a habit because she has got what she wants from it. If she doesn't get what she wants then she will learn not to do it. You have to be tough though and keep at it. It could take a few weeks for her to get it completely since she is so old now.
