There is no reason at all not to breastfeed after a section. I did with my son. Admittedly, it can be more difficult than following a vaginal birth, as sometimes the milk doesn't come in as soon, but it is worth persevering.
Something to consider is your position, as the traditional hold may be uncomfortable for you. I found the rugby/football hold a good one, with a cushion on my lap to support the baby. I also found it easier to feed lying down on my side, at least for the first few days.
