I'm not sure what time I should make my 11 year old daughter come in the house if she's just playing outside with her friends?

Uh, yeah, personally I think 10pm is way too late. A child of that age should really be in bed by then, even on a weekend, as a general rule. Consistent bed times are still important at age 11.

Well Jodi. During the week I generally let my daughter stay outside til about 7:30 and the weekends at 10. She's either sitting on our steps or on my neighbors steps by 9 o'clock. I wasn't sure if I was letting her stay out too late. I usually have the front door open in which I check on her periodically to make sure she is where she's supposed to be.

I think this is very much a personal choice,l and depends a lot on where you live and where she is. But I would say that by dark or before dinner would be appropriate id she was nearby and you know exactly where she is. However, you haven't given us much to go by. Just as an example, my daughter (she's 10) sometimes goes next door and plays with the neighbour's child, and she must be home with enough time before dinner to have a shower.
