Custody Battle

I need advice on a custody battle. A really close friend of mine is in a custody battle with her ex. She has an attorney and has gone to court already. The court has said she is keeping her son from the father and that the son needs a father. We are in the state of florida. She has tried being civil in the past with the father but he is not responsible, does not take an active part in his son's life, does not support financially, can barely afford to send child support, does not hold a steady job. I have helped raise her son with her as have her family members and the father refuses to sign over custody. Any suggestions on what we can do at this point?? Please help

Just because he doesn't have a job and doesn't offer support doesn't mean he shouldn't get to see his child. If the courts saying she's keeping dad away then she better start trying to foster the relationship or else she could end up losing her kid in court.

Let the son have a relationship with his father. If he wasn't willing to do ANYTHING for his kid... she wouldn't be in a court battle with him....
