Hi! I am new here and have a few questions about a custody battle I am going through! I live in VA and have a four month old daughter. She's breastfed with a small amount of supplementation.. I am a full time nursing student, but I only go to school 2 days a week. I only have a year left before becoming an RN. Unfortunately, I made a bad decision and had a kid with a deadbeat. I left him the day I got out of the hospital and never went back. I found out later by his son's mother that he has kept his son from her for over six months. I won't let him take my daughter out of sight because of that. I have proof through texts and facebook messages from the other mother. He has threatened the other mother and myself to take the kids and make sure we wouldn't see them again. I don't have that in writing. He has jumped from dead-end job to dead-end job. Although I am unemployed, I am in school.. He lives at home with his mother in a three bedroom house with his little sister, son, and mother. I live at home too. My daughter has her own nursery and we live in a very nice house. I feel like my chances are better than his to win custody, but I am still worried because it's my baby that's in the balance. It makes me sick. Has anyone been through and court battle in VA and can give me any input?
