My daughter dad has been in jail most of years since birth and now has recently got out again in February this year . My daughter texted a message telling him how she feels and he totally acted like a child in his response because he could not handle what she sent to him. Not sure on how to help the both of them get help they are both being stubborn.

How old is your daughter? And she did have a right to tell her dad how she feels but she could have done it in a better way.

My son just recently did the same thing but he is 19 years old and he asked his dad to talk man to man not dad to son. He told him how disappointed he was in the fact that to him his dad did not live up to what a father was supposed to be. He also told his dad how he felt about growing up in the house with step moms and step siblings (basically dad had primary care and my kids felt like they were not as important to dad anymore and my son said he never felt like he was one of the family) and how the step kids were more important that he and his sis were. He also told his dad to get control of his home because as it was now things were not good and needed to be better. So he not only told his dad how he felt and his disappointment but he told his dad that dad needed to step up and be the father he should be.

It was good for him to get his feelings out and off his chest. His dad was taken aback to find out how his own child thought of him. But in the end they still talk but not as much as they used to.
