Hello I was curious how many dads wake up to help with feeding the babies

My hubby maybe got up 5 times over the course of raising four kids. Most were for my first son, who was colicky. I was nursing, so what was he to do? Watch? We kept the room dark and quiet; I would pick baby up and nurse one side, change diaper in between sides to rouse baby and then nurse baby other side and put baby back down. After my first, the others got up, ate, went back down. Why would he get up to help me with something I did not need help with nor need or desire his company? I hold no resentment for that, he was terrific with them during the day.

Plenty do. But if mum is the one home with the baby and dad is working, then it makes sense for mum to do it - she can nap while baby naps. If you both work, then it's only fair to take turns. However, a breastfed baby NEEDS mum to wake at night, so condemning dads for not doing so may be unfair at times.
