dads in prison

Me and my ex split up when my son was 7months old as he was violent,he then turned to heroin and robberies and all sorts of crime, hes been sentenced to 5years which to me is brilliant as he made my life hell when we split,i do not want him apart of my sons life as i don't want him exposed to any of that and i most certainly not taking him to see him, besides he doesn't know him so why do that to him. My exs dad was in and out of prison while he was growing up and look at the effect that has now had, i do not want that for my son!!! But i have found out he has been asking people to take my son to see him as i band all letters and calls and will not put my boy through that out of his pure selfishness and stupidity. My question is... Can someone take your child in without consent??? X

I'd contact the prison and ask them this question. Visiting people in prison is not a picnic nor is it easy. I think you'd be able to put up lots of road blocks.
At any rate, start by asking them this question and do it in a respectful, concerned way.
