Be honest, and give him 'the talk'. He's asking, and he deserves to know.

You don't need to go into the gory details for him, but ask him why he's curious.

Thank you! My girls are 16 and 17 now.. when they were little I read a book (that I can't remember the name of now) which talked about telling your kids the correct name for their genital parts. By nicknaming them makes them feel ashamed. I don't know why anyone make nick names for them in the first place! We don't call our ears or fingers nick names.. lol I always think that honesty with our children is best. Just depending on the age it might need to be a little filtered. That's great he feels comfortable to openly ask you about that (I could never imagine asking my mother that as a child... lol) Take Advantage! !! Talk to him now while he is willing and wanting to know! Because soon he will not want to listen to you! And say that's disgusting! You want to tell him the correct "birds and bees" not his friends, internet,or some stranger! and I think its best for him to hear it from Mom's side and Father's and maybe even your boyfriend! I have step children and they feel the most comfortable talking to me about that subject. Good luck.

If he is asking he probably already knows! We live in a different world today!
I have 2 teenage girls that I. always express to them. "When you do have sex it should be with someone you love and who loves you back". That it would be great to wait until their married "for religious reasons mostly" but I really dont feel that is a reality these days. But It's worth a shot.. lol ;-)
*I say it's better when your in love with each other anyways! It is the most precious gift you could give to the one you love.. (I also remind them that they are gonna feel in love with every boy they date in High school.. lol)

*I would answer your son by saying "Yes we make love because we love each other and it feels good".
*And then I would give him the "Birds and the Bee's" talk.

You don't want to lie because it makes sex look shameful to him. Maybe he heard you or saw u too? *The best thing to do is talk about it openly.
