My 5 month old daughter, only wants to be held. And I have to be standing up all well. The minute I try to sit down, she cries. If I try to put her in a swing, or jumper, she's okay for about 10 mins then she starts to cry again. Any advice, on how to break her from this?

you say you have some toys that she can sit in, try bringing those in the kitchen (away from the stove and oven) and allow her to watch you cook. remember that it is ok if a baby cries... if you say her name in a sing songy way she can be comforted to some extent. she will realize that mommy is happy, i should be too.

If you get a sling or other baby carrier of some sort it will make it easier for you to get stuff done WHILE holding her. If you absolutely can not hold her (like if you have to pee) set her down where she is safe and talk to her... especially if she can't see you. Setting her down for brief periods of time will help her learn that it is ok if Mommy is not holding her every second, but holding her as much as possible will help her to learn and remember comfort and security.

Give it time and patience. She won't want you to hold her for the rest of her life.

of course she does... silly... what could be better than being held and carried everywhere? if you hold a baby all the time, OF COURSE they will cry when you put them down...
