My husband just took a job in another state. We'll be moving Jake to his 3rd daycare since his birth (the first one closed). We plan to move him to yet another one once settled into a new house (the plan is to live with family for now). Has anybody successfully gone through a daycare switch up without scarring their child and throwing him completely off his routine?

Thanks Ladies. You're right. I think the big switch up of moving is going to have more of an impact on my husband and I, than our son. He's not anxious about it because it really doesn't understand what's in store, like we do. I need to not pass my anxiety on and let him accept what's happening natural with our support. I think I just needed to hear it. Thanks!

It's not going to "scar" him. It will help him learn how to make new friends.
Like Raye said, don't make a big deal of it.

If you act like it's no big deal, then he should pick up on that and also feel less stressed. I'm sure there's going to be some anxiety from your son, and he may act out some. But the move might not be a bad thing. It will teach him to socialize with new people. It will show him that you and your husband are there for him though the changes. Be sympathetic to your son's frustrations, but you still have to be a parent to him and teach him that things change. If he acts out, then deal with the behavior. Just because you understand where it's coming from doesn't mean he gets a free pass to act badly. Try to get into a new routine as quickly as possible.

How old is Jake? Do you think that Jake will have a hard time moving to another daycare? I REALLY DON'T KNOW ABOUT GOING TO DIFFERENT DAYCARE BUT I WILL FIND OUT FOR YOU.
