Fuel for thought... As many know, I am very open about my son having ADHD... Yesterday I met with the school psychologist, who preformed an IQ evaluation on him... My son scored average and well above average in all areas... Even scoring at a 4th grade level for the rules and awareness of society! It's nice to see that just because a child has a diagnosis, it doesn't mean that this will prevent their potential... It simply means that we must be more creative in our teaching, our parenting and our tolerating. It means that we cannot look at each individual as the same... it means that society needs to start thinking a little more outside of the box :) I'm happy to say, that we are on the path to getting him the IEP he needs to provide him more specialized instruction and services. I'm also very thankful to all of the supportive professionals in our public school systems.
