I had C-section last year on 10 November 2015 for my second baby and my periods have not returned todate, I went for pregnant test and came out negative. I met my doctor said I should keep on waiting till it returns.. can I use birth control methods in this situation, I am afraid I may get pregnant?? please advise me, is this normal that I should still wait??

Yes definitely use birth control. Unless you WANT to get pregnant. It took me a year to get my period back after I delivered my daughter, and yes I was still breastfeeding. The hormones took a long time to regulate, but I always used back up protection, because like Michelle said, you can ovulate at any time. I didn't want to take the chance.

Of course you should use birth control if you don't want to fall pregnant! You don't need your period to fall pregnant, you need to ovulate and that can happen without a period. Your doctor should have explained that to you!

If you are breastfeeding g, too, that will delay getting your period back. But make sure you use birth control. Not getting your period does not mean you are not ovulating.
