I have read some of the posts all pre our decision for surgery and vowed I would return to write if all went well-to share some hope.
Our son George ,had his nissen in April 2013 at rch in Melbourne. He was in for 3 nights and had ng out after 2 days and was swallowing fluids and some soft foods on discharge. He is going well and has not had any problems. He is happier as he had severe reflux and copious vomiting and severe oesophagitis since birth. He has not vomited once and is back to normal eating. He was orally fed before(no peg). He is 5. George has hypotonia and global developmental delays . His walking has improved to 50m with AFO s and he is more settled at his special school . If only his speech would improve and his cheekiness/naughtiness would also improve I would be completely satisfied!
My husband and I are very pleased with the result after multiple trials of meds, scopes and the rest. We did wait a long time to finally do it and for George the timing was right.
Please fell free to ask any questions as I felt the weight of the decision too.
