Hello! I am expecting - Jan 2017 - as a first time Mom. I am very excited however my husband works most weekends and travels a lot. I have already found it lonely. We have friends but it's been hard to partake in activties while constantly trying to hide our news. I am finding I am beginning to feel a bit isloated, as none of our friends have kids or are pregnant and are in different seasons of life. Anyone else experience this? I didn't expect to feel so lonely and anxious.

Why must you hide your news? Because you are early on in your pregnancy and 'what if'? Some of what you may be feeling is typical; when you become a parent your life does change dramatically. It is ok to be fearful of handling it all, especially if you think your hubby may not be around as much as you desire. Joining prenatal classes, yoga, swim-fit, baby CPR, or other educational classes will put you in touch with other couples right in your area and experiencing what you are as well. Having a baby won't make you a pariah among your real friends. i would for sure bring these feeling up at your next OB appointment. You doctor can give you reassurance and the staff can hook you up with other expectant couples
