disapline for attitude and lying with kids

Well my daughter is 9yrs old so this may not help much. But when she tells a lie I make her write the lie she told, y she told it, the effect it had, then I make her write I will NEVER lie to anyone ever again around 50 times. The number of times she writes it gets increased with each lie. This usually works for a few weeks then she had to do it all again. But like I said she's 9yrs not not 5 so I'm not sure that this will really help since depending on where she is in het schooling how much she can really write. Sorry but that's really all I have unless in stead of making her wrote it u make her say it. Sorry I wish I could help more but that's really all I have. If anyone has any better ideas please let me know as well.

What all have you tried? A 5 year old should definitely know the difference between the truth and a lie, as well as right and wrong.
What kind of things are being lied about? I ask this to try to see where the thought process is.
What kind of other discipline/consequences are in place in your home?
I realize you are looking for answers and all I am doing is asking more questions. I just think that in order to give you ideas that may work for you, more information about you and your parenting style will help.
