My son is now 4 and has always been scared of being upside down. Now they are doing activities at school that includes forward rolls and he panics! Not sure if this will be a problem .....any inputs would be much appreciated!!

I too have this fear since i was little. I now struggle with it everyday. Im hoping parkour training will help me with this. Try doing the rolls at home. Turn it into a game and do them too. Maybe seeing his mum do it.will help. A nurturing hand guiding every step will help too. Just remember taking it slow and calm is important. Theres nothing worse then gut wrenching terror of facing a terrible fear. Give him lots of praise and encouragment for every step forward and consolation and care for every stumble :)

Please, PLEASE be sensitive to this! I have the same phobia, and as a child I used to actually TRY to fall out of trees during the tumbling unit in gym class, because I wanted to break my leg. That's right--I preferred a broken leg to doing a somersault. I still have the same irrational fear. Thankfully, no one forces you to do a handstand as an adult. My sympathy to your little man!

its just something it will come with age, was there any bad memories with him having a fall upside down if not that could be the reason.
