no rash from Huggies for my first but they leaked like crazy. We tried pampers swaddlers and they were great (although we discovered the pampers baby-dry gave him a rash!).

We also couldn't use diaper rash cream (like desitin) because it gave him the worst rash. We discovered Baby ADE and that worked great :)

I never had any rash problems with my daughter. They were fine with my son until he became about 10 months of age (I guess his urine was more acidic due to increased food intake) and he would get rashes off and on. I now have my son in no name grocery store diapers and he's fine now.

My oldest daughter was allergic to the bleach used to make them so lovely and white. She wound up with the most horrific and painful rashes. There are what are known as "organic" unbleached disposible nappies however I just chose to use cloth.

I used mostly pampers with my oldest. I found huggies leaked. She didn't have too many diaper rashes. With my youngest we are using cloth. Wish I'd used cloth with the first. Very leak resistant, good for the hiney and cheap.

All three of my kids developed rashes with Huggies. I used parents choice after that on each one, and they worked great.

I think it's more about the chemicals that rea used in manufacturing the diapers themselves...if you want more info on keeping your baby healthy...email me... crystal_stayshome@hotmail.com

When my son was a few months old, we tried using regular Huggies and they broke him out. We had used the Huggies Supreme without any trouble, but mostly used Pampers Swaddlers until he moved up to size 4. I've tried just about all of them, even store brands. I don't know if the regular Huggies would bother him now since he's 16 months old and not as sensitive. We usually use Pampers Baby Dry now...more per package than the Cruisers! I like the stretchy side tabs on the Pampers, but prefer the leg cut-out on the Huggies. Too bad no one's invented the perfect diaper!

Huggies is all I use on my daughter. My mom is a special ed teacher and had a student who was allergy to all the brand name diapers. The only one that worked was WHITE CLOUD. You can only find them at Wal-mart. good luck!

We used Pampers at the hospital since thats what they used. We started using huggies at home and her bottom was always red. We switched back to Pampers and she is good to go...plus I love how soft the pampers are verses the huggies.

I've used Huggies on both my children. There's something about the smell of the pampers and poop combined that just didn't sit right with me.

They're the only diaper that DOESN'T give my daughter a rash. I use pampers for my son and Huggies for my daughter. Every baby is different and you have to find what diapers work for each one.

My daughter got HORRIBLE rashes from Huggies, Pampers, Luvs and White Cloud diapers. I really didn't want to go to cloth for her because I don't really like the idea of all the washing (Laundry and I are not the best of friends) as well as she is in daycare, so I tried the Sams Club brand that are latex free, fragrance free and hypoallergenic...and they work great. And are so freaking cheap. Shame because I love the way the huggies fit her!

Actually I had to go to cloth diapers because all of the chemicals that are in disposable ones. I did find an organic brand that I only use at night. If you call huggies with the diaper  or the bag it came it, they will send you a refund!! I had to do that because it was a big package that I had spent $20 on! I hope this helps!

It all depends on the child. Luckily my son can use huggies and pampers without getting any rash. It all depends on trial and error.

I don't like huggies - my babies were all chub-a-lubs and the huggies were too tight around the legs and waist. I like the pampers, and also luvs.

Thank you all...Reason why I asked is because I used huggies for my daugher from birth and she always had a bit of a rash I couldnt seem to get rid of even with the doctor cream..then I used pampers because they were on sale and the rash went away almost instantly...stupid me I didnt connect the dots and then when I ran out of the pampers I again bought huggies and within 3 diapers changes the rash was back...I have switched back to pampers and her bottom couldnt be happier!!!

We went through this with our kids. We ended up having to use ONLY Pampers. I called Huggies and they said Luvs and Huggies are made by the same company, so if one gives you problems, so will the other. We tried all off-brands (Walmart, Babies R Us, Target, Sam's, Costco...etc) and my youngest was more tolerant of the off brand, but her bum was not totally clear like when we kept her in Pampers. It depends on your child and the sensitivity of their skin. My best friend used Huggies and loved them - depends on your child.

yes, i tried using huggies for 2 of my kids and they both got rashes, we then moved to pampers and we loved them. though we are a member of sams club and we decided to try their members mark brand because you get more for your money, and we love them they work just as well as pampers and hold up very good .

Depends on the Baby.
My son was good with any diapers (even the cheep ones) but I've seen babies who react differently to different brands or anything really.

Huggies gave my baby a rash. She was very sensitive to diapers. Pampers gave us no problems at all

I swear by Huggies!!

Pampers Gel obsorbing deal doesnt work for my lil man.

After 2 Pees at Nite by morning they are HUGE and all bloated and gross!

Huggies Stay Nice and NEVER give my lil man a rash. I recommend a little johnsons powder which also helps the moisture stay clean of the tender skin!

Your rash is from the moisture. put a little powder on the wee bum. :o)

My oldest had the NASTIEST rash with Huggies. As soon as we stopped using them it went away immediately. She has somewhat sensitive skin (she has eczema in some areas). We used them for a few weeks with my youngest and I really couldn't handle all of the perfume/fragrance in them. They said that they were the "sensitive" ones too. Now for bedtime (we use cloth during the day) we are using "Parent's Choice." They don't have a smell or any perfumes and absorb really great! They aren't bulky or anything.

Quoting Lindsay:

do huggies diapers give your baby a rash??

YES! I used Pampers forevery it seemed and switch to save some money. I used Luvs first, and my daughter broke out badly. So I then switched back to Pampers and a few months later, I tried Huggies and the same thing. I stick with Pampers now. She can't use anything  but that! You are not alone :)
