How about this: I HAVE a heart. A heart big enough to know that if I don't prepare my kids for LIFE and all that it includes (Bills, Rent/Mortgage, Insurance, ect...) That my kids will sponge off of ME for life.

Not happening.

Teach your kids that they have personal responsibility to pay their own way when they're adults. Kids look for boundaries, and expect us to teach them how to survive. By allowing your adult children to abandon their goals, party all night, sleep all day, and shirk job responsibilities, WHAT ARE YOU TEACHING THEM?

Absolutely NOTHING, except how to be a sponge on the system.

ALL people whom fell like they are being forced will reject you even you even if your intentions are only for the best... That's just human nature. ( have a heart ) :)

Either show him the door, or make him pay room & board. Mine did from the age of 18 until he moved out. and it was his choice to do so (pay room & board, that is)

I would not at this point. Sounds like he has lost interest in what needs to be. Encourge subjects that he is interested in and would like to learn more about for now. It could be that he has fell into a slump, now that he doesn't have a regular routine. Try not to put him down during this phase. I think that we all have these types of problems and a little patience and encouragement will go a long way in this situation. Please don't take me wrong, because I am a very strong advocate for education.
Sure hope it all works out for ya'll in the long run!!!
