Do not give your baby water at night

Infants don't need water, but should not be limited on the amount of formula or breast milk that they drink. Toddlers on up should be allowed to drink as much water as they want... even at night. I have two that wet at night regularly until 4.5 (and at various time for 4 years after that) and while I never refused them water I did limit them a bit at bedtime/night. Then I have one that was dry through the night 99% of the time before he turned 2 and he frequently guzzled water in bed.

If your baby/child is thirsty then water is needed.
If it's a baby then they would be in a nappy/diaper anyway. As they learn to toilet train, it happens that they will get up during the night.
Remember when they were a newborn? You were up every few hours feeding them anyway. I say look after your child properly and deal with a few interrupted nights sleep.
