Do you ever feel like you need a vacation after vacation?

Just got back from our family vacation to the beach - not complaining, mind you - but I had visions of getting up early, reading a book, meditating, even - and find myself EXHAUSTED from planning, packing, unpacking, organizing, making sure everyone was happy. Anyone else feel that way? How do you find time to refresh your own soul in the midst of being a wife and mother in this precious and SHORT time away from work?

They will appreciate 'quality' time with a happy, relaxed mom more than 'quantity' with a crabby, frazzled one. Like the ol' saying goes, "If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!"

Thanks Gwen! Good advice. I think part of the problem is me - I feel guilty leaving the kids b/c I work and so want to squeeze the most out of every moment.

Lol! DEFINITELY. I've always said any vacation with kids is not really a vacation :-) Have hubby or a grandparent (if this vacation includes extended family) watch the kids so you can spend a few hours shopping, hiking, or whatever relaxes you. Being on a family vacation does not mean you have to spend every waking moment as a complete group.
