My daughter is 18 months, double jointed, and not walking yet. Seeing my friends children who are younger walking all ready has been really difficult. And every where I go I get asked how old is she, is she walking? And then I listen to a list of things I should be doing from people who don't really know. Its more upsetting because I know my daugther is frustrated and wants to walk just like everyone else, but she is not strong enough yet. Any other moms out there with a child that is double jointed? Any adivce? Thank you

I don't know what you mean by double jointed. But if there is a physical reason for your daughter not walking then I suggest you see a Dr, or even a physio-therapist to help her to get the strength to walk.

My hubby is an orthopedic surgeon ( bones and joints) and says that being double-jointed should not be a factor in walking. You may want to get a second opinion just to be safe. Good luck.

Of course she has seen a doctor. Her pedi wasn't concerned at her last appointment, we have another coming up in a week or so. I plan on asking for certain testing to take place to make sure its just double jointedness, and not another issue. And then go from there. My reason for asking was to discuss the issue with parents who have a child with double jointedness and who have also had an issue walking because of it.
