Do you have MIL, SIL, Sisters or friends other than the ones you have met on Circle of Moms become members of Circle of Moms. Does that bother you or make you happy? Just wondering. What do you do if you need to vent about them? Yikes. Or they about you? My sister has joined and I am excited about it. I hope she loves it as much as I do. Don't worry, we are nothing alike. You will lover her. tee hee.

First off there is no way in hades EVER invite family into CoM. Just drama waiting to happen and I've seen it.

Secondly there is this:

2.Examples of unacceptable Content or behavior on the Service include:
1.abuse, harassment, engagement in personal character attacks, threats of violence, flaming, intimidation, of any person or organization, or any other threatening behavior;
2.engaging in or contributing to any illegal activity or activity that violates others’ rights;
3.violating the Service’s Community Guidelines;
4.providing information that is false, misleading or inaccurate;
5.hacking or modifying the Service to falsely imply an association with the Company;
6.implying or pretending to be affiliated with a company or organization with which you are not affiliated, or misrepresenting the extent of your affiliation or role with an affiliated company or organization; or disclosing personal or proprietary information of another user, person or organization

So I would say that someone coming on here without kids is misrepresenting themselves. Which is against the guidelines. For now they need to remove their info until I can talk to Herna.

Thanks and sorry.

A lot of my "real-life" mom friends (many of whom I consider family even though we don't share blood) are members of CoMs, but none of them are active. I think a lot of them joined at the same time as me, and they all set up profiles for themselves and their children, but most of them just don't post or even browse.

Honestly, I don't think I would want them on here. I love them all to death and I value their mom-advice and support, but I come here for support and advice I can't get from them (for example, I'm a custodial stepmom and NONE of my family or friends have ever been in a stepmother-type situation, so I come here for advice concerning that because whenever I go to them for support all I get is "Well you chose to marry a guy with a kid." I don't get that all the time, and for th emost part they are supportive, but I do like to get advice from people who "get it." I hope that made sense... lol).

I don't think its going to work out either way. So I don't think it is going to be an issue. She lives in Joplin, Missouri and yes they were hit hard. Just too different worlds. So I retract the question. Thanks anyway.

Can you talk to her in person or on the phone? I think that would be more helpful imo, but maybe I'm wrong. I think it will be fine, I'm sure there are other's on here that don't have kids.

I do and I'm ok with it because anything I'd say on here I would say to them as well. I'm curious though if she's not a mom why would she want to be a part of Circle of Mom's?

Perfect sense. My sister just joined and I not sure how I feel about it yet? I think it will be okay. But she has such different ideals than I do. She is not a mom. shhhhhhhhh I wonder if that is okay?
