Do you let your kids stand at busstop alone?

Hi, I have a 10 month old daughter and a 2 year old son and I feel like I am going to be an over protective parent espicially when my kids start Kindergarten. I guess I watch the news to much about children abdution. I went to drop my kids off at daycare this morning, as I was heading home I was turning down my street and I saw a 7 year old girl standing on the busstop by herself, this busstop is located on a busy street also. I thought to myself, where is her mom at. I was just wondering, if your child catches a schoolbus do you let them stand there by themselves or if I am overreacting?

Maybe not a 7 year old girl, no, I don't think I'd be comfortable (my daughter is 6 and I still pick her up and drop her off at the door at school) but my son has been standing at the bus stop on his own since he was about 10.....

I live on a quieter street. My kids don't take the bus yet, but if and when they do, I will be walking with them to the bus stop and staying with them until they are picked up. Maybe by the time they are 10 I would let them walk to it alone if it is within close proximity to where we live.

I don't. Our situation is a little different. I live pretty far in the country, and the bus comes to the end of our driveway, which isn't terribly long. I make my kids wait either in the house, or on the deck, and only allow them to go to the end of the drive as soon as they see the bus comming. Even though I can hear every car that comes down our road (maybe 10 total in a day), I fear that someone could easily drive by and take my kids, without anyone seeing.
