do you think it's cruel to circumcise?

i'm doing some research into whether i should get my son circumcised or not. i understand there are benefits to it but is i really worth it?

i'm not against circumcision and just wondered what other moms thought of this subject? i've read that in the long run, a circumcision is a better option? i don't want him to get older and wish that he was circumcised because if he got it done later on in life it would hurt him more.

sorry to hear you had to go through that complication! sounds awful. :( hope he's ok now.

as far as personal preference, i prefer circumcised penises and i know a lot of other girls do, too. but i don't know if it's worth getting him circumcised because a part of me just thinks it's unnecessary.

my husband is either way about it.

i guess we don't have a strong preference one way or the other, so do you think we should just leave him uncut? i don't know.

was it easier to clean the circumcised boys and is it better do you think?

It's completely personal preference and you and the babies father's choice! you will read a lot of conflicting information but the bottom line is it's up to you! if you choose not to circumcise then be prepared he may face some opposition from other children or later on in life when he has girlfriends but it's par for the course plenty of people decide not to for the same reasons you mention. The baby won't remember it. My oldest son is circumcised because I Thought that's what you were supposed to do 16 years ago, my second son is not because our insurance didn't cover it, and my 15 month old is but in hindsight if I knew he was going to have complications I would have skipped the procedure entirely! The doctor knicked a vein and he bled out almost a quarter of his blood which was extremely scary!! this is not normal it's very rare, but still a risk. Just food for thought.
