Do you trust your kids to make their own decisions?

Hi! I'm Katy and I am the mom of an 11 year old boy that has a strong mindset, vision and an amazing understanding of life. He taught me long time ago to trust him. He can make decisions. I have to admit there were times when I doubted myself by letting those decisions happen. He chooses his own education, clothes, food. Would you trust your kids?

Kids most definitely do not know better, my dear, and if you are giving your 11 yo permission to make ALL decisions pertaining to his health, education, etc, then you're making a mistake, in my opinion.
Do I trust my kids? Yes. Did I trust them, at age 11 to make ALL of the decisions regarding their lives? Most definitely not.

Again, like the other ladies, I trust my kids. When it come to health, school, living situation or any important decisions? I will hear their input but I make the decisions with their father. They don't have the life skills or or the ability to predict the outcome of their actions yet.

Depends on what exactly you are talking about. Do I trust my 13 year old daughter? Absolutely. Does she make ALL of her own decisions? Absolutely not.

Kids do know a lot of things, but they do NOT know everything... even adults do not know everything though and sometimes make stupid decisions.. Children/teenagers need guidance and direction from the adults in their lives. If you let your 11 year old decide everything completely on his own... you are failing him. If you let him make some of the decisions in his life w/ guidance from you... that is good.
