Do you wake baby if the 3rd nap of the day is late?

Hi, My guy is now 11.5 weeks old and has been extremely difficult in terms of sleep (needs to be held for all naps) and at night needs to nurse to fall asleep, which happens to be in the crook of my arm. Needless to say, I have very little time to do much. I'm trying to make sense of his nap schedule. If his 3rd nap is around 4:30, does it make sense to wake him if it starts getting too late. Will it affect nighttime sleeping (wakes every 2-3 hours).

I wouldn't wake him. At that age, in my opinion, any schedule should be led by him. Let him wake when he wakes, stay awake for however long he can and then when he sleeps, let him sleep. My son was awake and feeding every 2-3 hours, day and night, until he was around....I wanna say around 4-5 months old.

I agree with the other ladies it's too early to try and get him into a nap schedule, and it's ok that he wants to be held. Have you tried a baby carrier to get stuff done around the house, if you want to. I know that I really just wanted to rest when my kids were that age. Also 2-3 hours at night is pretty normal.

No he is too young for scheduled naps yet and needs to sleep so often to grow. Waking him will only lead to a crankier overtired infant.

Given the age of your infant, I would not wake him. He is still really young and sleep is important at this stage in life. It will get easier as he gets older so just keep telling yourself that. I know being sleep deprived is rough but it does get better, I promise!
