Is she actively IN speech therapy? From the way your op is worded it doesn't sound like it. You have to be consistent w/ the speech therapy, give it time, and follow their advice.

I would also look into an IEP or something if she is getting marked down in school because of the speech issue. They should be able to make some sort of alteration, so that her grades reflect what she IS actually learning in spite of the speech complication.

As Little Miss said, You have to keep at the therapy. It's not going to be an instant solution. Chopping and changing things on confuses your daughter and can set her back further.

yes we have had a hearing screening done and came back perfect however i feel that she suffers from selective hearing lol but with all the research ive been doing it says that frequent ear infections as a baby can have a roll in thi and she had them all the time and i think her speech pattern is mre to do wih fronting..which is when the sound is suppose to come from the back of the mouth and she makes it with the front of her mouth ...so now its trying to hep her find the correct sound...its just hard to deal with because no one can unnderstand her and everything she got marked down for on her report card in kindergarden has to do with her seech :( ...and she is frustrated when people dont understand her....

Post a reply! My son has speach issues. It takes a while working with the speach therapist. It is a great idea to get her ears checkecd. But if that comes out fine, just understand that speach therapy can take years. It is often offered through the school she is in (for free) and my son has been taking therapy for 2 years now.
