mine doesnt have low muscle tone but they thought she did due to not sitting up til almost 12 months and only being able to commando crawl still at 13 months she cant bring herself up onto her hands and knees. they were pretty much just looking for an excuse because some bubs hit milestones later then others. anyway just thought id add a comment since mine has done thing later then normal and most likely wont take steps til about 18 months but she doesnt actually have a medical reason
I have a Down Syndrome child- they have low muscle tone. Lots of playing and various exercises to strengthen- I also have to feed him a protein and glucose supplement to give him the energy he needs. Lots of work- but worth it. Yes, Swimming is great for him. Excersise pillow 'U' Shaped. Before my son was sitting I used the 'Bumbow' Do you have them in the U.S.? Or sat him in my wash basket proped up with pillows?

I'm a Mum of two men now but I worked in child care for many years and worked with children with this problem. One of the best things we ever used with the children was the 'jelly bean'. A sort of blow up jelly bean shaped fitness ball. I'll try and find a link but if you google it you may find it. Lots of fun and builds great muscle tone. Do you take your little one swimming? That also helps and lots of tummy time with you there with him.

I have a cerebral palsy baby (spastic form) couldnt roll over, sit up, crawl or nothing at 10 to 12 months, he now nearly 2 and still not walking. the best advice is to just keep with his physio, keep doin exercises at home and get as much help as possible, im not implyin you have a disabled child, as your baby might just be a lazy baby lol but if it turns out that your little one has something wrong...then dont worry. My cerebral palsy boy is so happy, so moveable and has made loads of progress and should lead very normal life....
I tell my self on down days "they not disabled children, they children with disabilty"
