My son is 23 months old and is getting very independant but when we ask him if he wants to pee potty he will run the opposite direction. Does anybody out there have any ideas or pointers on how to get him use to the potty?

I took all three of mine directly to the toilet and never used a potty. Before I tried to toilet train my daughter came to the toilet with me so she knew what was going on in their and was not frightened. I then toilet trained as normal but used the toilet and not a potty. This has worked well for me as children like to feel grown up and grown ups use the toilet. It also stops you having to retrain your child to use the toilet. I made sure I had well fitting toilet seats so that they did not slip around and I have had 100% success. If your son is showing signs that he wants to be dry and clean then give the toilet thing ago. He is however very young for a boy as they tend to potty train alot later than girls.
