We do not celebrate Xmas in our household because we do not believe in spreading the illusion of Santa and we do not believe in Jesus. However we will be celebrating present day when our son is old enough to understand and enjoy it. We do believe in spreading good will to all though but believe that you can do that any and every day not just one day a year. And we do not need a reason to spend time with family, have lights and presents and share food together we are lucky enough to be able to do that throughout the year. I do think it is sad that a lot of families stress out and fight over money, beating the traffic and shopping rush and having to spend time with people they don't want to all in the name of Xmas. Some people have even been known to kill themselves because of the stress. Domestic violence also goes up at this time as does other crime. Is it really worth it?
