My son is 16 months old. i never tried to wean him from breastfeeding but today is the 6th day he hasn't ask for it. I am so proud of him. He is such a big boy growing up so fast but i am also so sad. He isn't my little baby anymore. and part of me wants to scoop him up and nurse him again just so i can get a glimpse of him as my baby one last time. He nursed longer then his sister she wanted to be big so much sooner at about 10 months. she is now 2 1/2. she was so busy she didn't have enough time to sit and nurse she wanted her sippy cup. i am so sad yet so happy.

Well... it's only been about 8 months. I don't feel this way OFTEN. It was hard on me hearing my son ask to nurse almost every day for 6 weeks (after being away from me for 4 weeks) and me having to tell him there WAS nothing. Now I only get momentary 'twinges' when seeing my nephew nurse. Most of the time I'm fine w/ the little man he is becoming. :) ♥

Every stage of parenting comes w/ joys and pains... in addition to my almost 4 year old son I also have twin 10 year old girls. Talk about a roller coaster.... lol Hormones galore in this house!

I actually do feel that way sometimes, but my youngest was force weaned (due to circumstances beyond our control) at 3.25 years old..... ;)

He's almost 4 now and even though he is HUGE and I can't imagine I nursed him so long.... I still miss it a bit when my little nephew (14 months) is nursing. ♥
