My spouse has gone on a 21 day rotation out of town for the 2nd time now. First time was very rough, and in the beginning there was a lot of tension between us which we managed to talk through after 3 or 4 very difficult and emotional days. After the creases were taken care of, he surprised me with a very new attitude. He started using words of endearment, promising changes he would make to me, and shocked me by telling me he wanted to marry me after 14 years of living common law! The test was when he came home, and he certainly showed me his new side. However, when he left out of town again, something triggered him and his attitude went back to square one. I love him dearly, but he is a very controlling and possessive man and I am not sure what it is that has him angry with me accusing me of lying, going against him, etc. I know in my heart I did nothing of the sort, and we are at war again. Has anyone else experienced these rollercoaster rides when their spouse goes out of town? I just want to know I am not alone and I don't know how to deal with this. He is adamant about ripping up our marriage license we purchased before he left! I don't know what to do!
