Hi. My name is Joey Fourie. My son is going to be having this operation on 06 Aug 11. He is 11 months old. I just wanted to hear the op went with your child and if all was successful and if his hip has normalized now? Please let me know. I am really nervous about putting my son through this but I know it is necessary. Will be great to hear from you. thanks Joey.

Our daughter had a pelvic osteotomy (closed reduction). It's a bit different then what you've gone through, but still the care will probably be similar. Message me if you want some more info...It's a tough thing to go through and I only wish we had someone to talk to!

Quoting Julie:

Yes, more common in girls, my daughter wore a brace for 10 weeks and has now formed a proper hip joint- I as well was born with this and it is apparently genetic. Find a good orthopedic surgeon and have untrasounds as xrays are not sufficient. Good Luck

Yea, we have done that and it didn't work so now we are going to have surgery called varus osteotomy of proximal femur.  So I was trying to find someone that has gone through that surgery.  Thanks for your help!

My sister-in-law Peggy's daughter, my niece Maria had hip dysplasia. Please message her, she is one of my friends. I don't know too much about it, but I know she'd be more than happy to give you some info.
