Does anyone know how to get an 11-month-old to stop screaming?

She screams when she's happy, mad, bored, so it isn't a specific mood. I'm sure she's trying out her vocal cords, but it's a high pitched shriek, we can't even take her out most of the time. We've tried ignoring it, telling her "No" in a firm voice (she just smiles). I obviously wont punish her if she's expressing herself; it isn't a tantrum, but it has to stop. How can I gently encourage her to stop screaming like that?

I agree ignore it completely. No reaction don't even look in her direction.

Ignore it. When my daughter started that it was annoying but after awhile she stopped, if its because she was mad I sent her to her room until she stopped.
