There is no 18 pounds 16 ounces.... it would be 19 pounds. That sounds like an ok weight for a 15 month old. It's on the small side, but as long as he is continuing to grow and thrive there is nothing wrong with it. I know several kids that were that weight or lighter at that age (and several that were MUCH bigger).

LOL...Like I said, 30 years ago (WOW, SD is going to be 30! holy shit, i'm old!) And in Good Ol' Wyoming...the gateway to the west...Rural as all get out, and still have standards somewhere between 1898 and 1925...

That's crazy. I have a cousin who only gave birth to kids over 10 pounds. How do you call in social services for giving birth to an 'overweight' baby? Weird...

You know, Dove, I didn't even catch the 18lbs 16oz...but that is strange...But then again, my step daughter's birth weight was listed as 9 lb 16oz...I asked hubby about that, and he said that the doctors said putting 10 lbs on the bc would cause family services to look into the situation because the baby was "overweight"...This was in 1983, though, and in Wyoming, which can be a bit backwards at times...

Sarah's got it right. Ask your physician. If there is a concern, they'll let you know.

Also, look at yourself, your family and the baby's father's family traits. Are you small people? Do you tend to be petite? If so, then it's likely that your baby will be the same.
