My son, who will be 7 on Wednesday, has been diagnosed w/ADHD, anxiety & defiant disorder, since he was 4 1/2. He went to an IOP day treatment for youth, for 12 months, while we worked on getting him functional, for school. He then transferred to a regular kindergarten class, & did great. We had to increase his Adderall over the summer, but he started the 1st grade great. Around Thanksgiving, we found out that we had to move. This was very stressful for him, & his anxiety started increasing. We finally got moved, on 2/1. I hoped this would calm him, but he seems to have continued to escalate, with his ADHD, as well. In mid February, we increased his Fluoxetine dose. After 30 days, we increased his Adderall. He also takes Clonidine, for sleeping & I started giving it to him in the morning, because he was starting to be very uncontrolled, in the am. Just 3 days ago, we were back with the Dr. who then prescribed Intuniv. He's to take this instead of the am dose of Clonidine. She says that she's had great results with it. I didn't have any issues with him over the weekend. Then this morning, I received an email, from his teacher. Just giving me a heads up, that he's already been defiant & crawled under a desk chair. He didn't want to do his schoolwork. If things don't change, they'll be calling me later, to go pick him up from school. Can I really look forward to the Intuniv helping us get him back to where he was before we had to move?
