Does stress reduce the supply of breast milk for a baby?

I had enough milk for my son until he was 3 months.he was such a plummy baby. But some family issues affected me and I was not able to be fully involved with him. I event tried reducing my food intake during nights which I used to do during pregnancy.I thought it was just a habit formed in and my tummy didn't need it any more. But eventually I found my son hungry as I did not have enough milk for him. Some people say that supply of milk in mothers is related to heredity. If your mother had then you too will it true? Or can I increase my supply of milk if I really try hard with enough food and being relaxed.. I really need your opinions as I don't want this to happen with second baby.

Stress can actually cause you to reduce milk supply. As can reducing food intake. You need to be eating well and healthily, as well as trying to remain relaxed. Also, make sure you are getting plenty of rest.
