My 18-month old daughter has been having somewhat loose (but also weirdly sticky, so it's hard to wipe off her butt) and stringy/mucousy stools. She's going at least twice a day, but sometimes up to 4 or 5 times. Usually she just does 1 or 2 a day so this is new. She's teething hard, she's had a bunch of canines and molars pop up in the last few weeks (some are still breaking through) and she has an awful diaper rash because of (I think) the acidity of her stools and the frequent changing. I'm trying to keep that under control with Desitin and/or talc, but it's hard going when she needs changing so often, it just seems to get more sore.
She's eating normally; breakfast is typically oatmeal with fruit, toast or a sandwich with yogurt and animal crackers or toddler snacks for lunch, and she eats a healthy dinner with us in the evening. She's on soy milk and has been since she was diagnosed with a milk protein allergy at around 6 weeks old.
She's had no fever, no vomiting, and she's acting like her usual self, I just can't figure it out. We're seeing the doctor later in the week (and she saw her with the diaper rash when she went in for shots recently, and just suggested Desitin) but I wondered if this was something anyone else had had to deal with?
