Does this sound normal to anyone?

My sister has been claiming that her oldest son has some type of behavior disorder for a while now. Her and her children have had a really hard life so far and my nephew has been through so much and he's only four years old. His doctor has decided that he has ADHD, which I absolutely do not agree with because my sister has gone straight to him having ADHD before going anywhere else like a psychiatrist. The biggest problem that I am having so far is that he has been started on blood pressure medication, which doesn't make sense to me at all if the problem is more related to his brain functionality than to his cardiac health. But, the thing that has me worried the most is when he was a baby, he used to get seizures right before he would fall asleep if his heart would dip too low, and I am worried that being on this medication could put him into cardiac arrest if his dosage is not being kept track of at school or at home. Does blood pressure medication sound appropriate for a 4 year old who might have ADHD, because I have never heard of any child being prescribed this before.

I have a lot of concerns about young children taking medication. I haven't been able to find out the name of the medication but I told my sister that she needs to take him to a specialist for ADHD in children instead of just taking the advice of her pediatrician. He has had such a hard life this past year with his father allowing his girfriend to abuse all 3 of my little nephews, I think he needs counseling before mediactions are considered, but all of my sister's friends keep talking her into the SSI benefits he would recieve for having ADHD, and I can't get them to shut up long enough to explain it to her. I am currently in school to become a forensic psychologist, so this is an issue I have studied often.

what is the name of the medication? If you have that then you can do a little research on the internet and find out what it 's uses are.

maybe he has blood pressure problems. its so easy to check bp. so i really doubt it is a mistake. i know one adhd kid with allergies, his doc wanted to get the allergies under control b4 starting the adhd meds. idk why but maybe this is a similar situation.

They usually don't diagnose ADHD until 6 or 7. I think. I have no idea about medications though.
