Doesnt want to sleep in his own room?

My son is 31 months old and we also have a 6 week old little girl. My son has been really good with her except that he hasn't been wanting to sleep in his own bed anymore. He wants to sleep in the bed with me. I didn't mind it for a while but now it has become an every night thing. The babies crib is in my room also, so I'm not sure if he is maybe jealous that she gets to sleep in there.

I don't mind him sleeping in the bed with me, but sometimes it would be nice to have a little time to myself. We used to close the door to his room, but now he can reach the doorknob and comes running out. I have thought about putting a gate in front of the door and just leaving the door open, but does that seem horrible to do him? Any suggestions on how I can get him to sleep back in his own bed. Do you think it's just a phase and it will work itself out?

Most likely, it is a phase. I have to put a gate on my 2 year old son's door at night, or else he would bother his older brothers, baby sister, and dad who has to go to bed before him. Not to mention get into EVERYTHING he possibly could! I would try the gate, maybe he will be better if his door is left open. Good luck!
