Example...Mom left several messages on my phones about inviting my family to a Christmas brunch at her Country Club. My parents never pick up the cost so even though we get invited we have to pay. I called her back after several days explaining that I had some questions. She made a comment to me when she answered the phone saying is this the daughter that doesn't call me back? When I told her I needed some details she became frustrated and asked me if I listened to her messages with the details. I told her I did but had some questions. She replied that this was simply an invitation to be together as a family and started defining what the word invitation..she said it was like if I got an invitation to go to Mini Sota! My inlaws moved out there and I visited them once in 31 years! I told my mom that I know the definition of family and she snapped back sometimes I wonder! I have been the most devoted loving daughter out of the 4 adult children. I feel bullied and don't deserve these sarcastic remarks, however, when I try to stick up for myself she gets nastier and I just say I have to get off the phone. Is getting off the phone the only solution?
