I have triplets 3 year olds and a soon to be 8 yr old. I have allowed my children to watch a nick junior show before bed but it is turning in to a very long night time process. I know it will be hard but I need to get them to go to bed earlier. Right now its close to 9pm or later and they have to be up by 6am. Any do able suggestions? Oh I am also a single mom. Thanks

Save the tv for before dinner. After dinner give them a bath (either assembly line with oldest last so you can dress triplets while oldest takes bath or if you can still get the triplets in the tub together it'd be faster) then 15-20 minutes of quiet play time or story time and it's off to bed. We start the kids bath waters as soon as dessert is served so it's waiting when they are ready. That should cut the bedtime routine down to an hour or so. Plus if you are running a little behind a new show won't start that they just have to finish watching.

Allow them to watch a show earlier so that the bedtime routine starts earlier. I have 2 boys ages 3.5 and 5.5 and they watch tv for a bit after dinner.

By 7:45pm, they get changed for bed, have some fruit, brush their teeth and go to bed. It is usually around 8:30.

Cut the tv out. Have dinner, a bath, read a story and bed time by 7.30-8.

Maybe instead of tv they should bath, then read or play a quiet game. then after half hour or so go in read them a book tuck them in kiss good night and turn lights off.

You could put in a movie instead, that way its about an hour long, start it earlier and when it is over its bedtime.
