Drinking...

For the past 3 days or so it's been a struggle getting my 16 month old to drink water. I give her milk with breakfast and just before bed, which she's drinking just fine, but all she gets for the rest of the day is water (no juice or anything else) and like I said, she's refusing to drink it. She loves watermelon so I bought her a massive melon last week and she's been eating that with lunch and after dinner for the past few days...could this be why she doesn't want her water? Is the water in the melon enough?

I just want to add that she is drinking SOME water, usually in a day she'll drink between 1 and 2 sippy cups full and the last few days it's only been about a third of a sippy

Okay...duh me! I don't know why I didn't think about her having plenty of wet nappies = she's fine. Thank you for your responses!

my 14 month old son will only drink water out of a regular, open-top cup. he drinks milk from his sippy, but if i put water in it, he refuses. as soon as i put it in a regular cup, he drinks it happily. perhaps give it a try? i think my son likes it in a regular cup because he sees me drinking so much water throughout the day. make sure you are setting a good example ;-)

I struggle to get my 16 month old to drink pretty much anything lol. I offer milk & water in a sippy cup with meals, and he usually doesn't drink too much of either. Sometimes I do worry about his fluid intake, but I'm trying my best to get enough in him. I'd say just keep offering it to her throughout the day & as long as she's having enough wet diapers, she should be fine. :)

My boys don't drink water alone. It's mostly milk and a bit of watered down juice. Like the others have said, as long as her diapers are wet, it should be okay.

Try flavored water if you really want her to have water but I agree unless she is not having wet diapers I wouldnt worry

That is enough with the milk and I would not worry. If her diapers weren't wet then I would be worrying.
