Drinking risks.

My husband and I are trying for another kid,I could be pregnant but not sure yet...the most I would be is 2 wks. I had a couple drinks the other night and was wondering what the risks are if I am pregnant and if there is an open window for drinking that won't cause big problems?

I wouldn't recommend drinking anymore if you're actively trying to get pregnant. Your body will need to be in it's best shape. But the couple of drinks you had the other night aren't likely to be harmful.

The couple drinks you had a couple nites ago, not a big risks, but I would advise that if you think you're pregos that drinks are of limits, when I was trying for my first I didn't drink just incase, when I would get my period, then I would, but don't drink if you think you are pregos. If something were too happen, even tho more then likely it wouldn't be the cause. You might always wonder if having a couple drinks might have caused the issue.

You can't drink !! When you are trying to get pregnant you have to have resolve and say no . How will you feel if on down the line you found out something was wrong like a learning dissability . You will always blame yourself . Do you feel you can live with this ? And the worst is it may not be your fault .

I agree with the others that the alcoholic drinks you had wouldn't do any harm, but you should refrain from this point on. You never know when you will become pregnant or how long you may be pregnant before you find out and at that point it could do some harm. Not only that, but alcohol could cause you to take longer to become pregnant.

Doctors say no amount of alcohol is safe. The coupl drinks you had the night probably won't cause any problems, but don't drink any more until your sure you aren't pregnant.

Ditto the others. The drinks you have already had are unlikely to have any effect whatsoever, but if you are actively trying to get pregnant I would refrain from any further alcohol consumption.... just to be safe.

Like the others said, the drinks you already had aren't likely to cause any harm. I would definately stay away from alcohol though until you find out for sure, and wouldn't drink at all after knowing you are prego. Yes, some people drink lots while prego and have perfectly healthy babies, and some only take a couple drinks and their babies suffer the consequences. To me, it's not worth the risk.

Drinking that early wouldn't do any harm at all. The umbilical cord is still being created, which means the baby has yet to be fully connected to your body and bloodstream. I would hold off on drinking more though just in case. I got absolutely smashed the day before I found out I was pregnant (at about 4.5 weeks) and my daughter is perfectly fine. I didn't drink again afterwards, but the doctor said that, that one day of drinking wouldn't do any harm that early on. Good luck!
