Drive or fly?

OK, I am TERRIFIED to fly! I have panic attacks and even thinking about flying makes me anxious. I'm planning on going to Boston in a couple of weeks which is a 15 hour drive or 2 1/2 hour flight. I have a 5 month old and he's pretty laid back. He does well in the car, sometimes I have problems, but for the most part he's good. I'm just wondering what I should do. I was going to drive 8 hours and then stay the night at a hotel and drive the rest the next day OR I could fly 2 1/2 hours. It's only me and 5 month old who is traveling. I can't stress this enough, I am TERRIFIED to fly!!!! Help!!

Well it sounds like sometimes you encounter problems in the car too. I don't have a fear of flying so if my option was to be in the car 2 days straight with my kids or on a plane I would take the plane. I drive 4 hours with my kids every month or two and it's tiring. Also like Jodi said its going to be more than 8/7 hours because you're going to have to stop and eat, feed and change your baby, and use the restroom. I will also add that if you do end up driving more than likely your little one is going to sleep more than normal during the day which may end up throwing his night sleep off

I'd fly. Believe me, you do NOT want a screaming child in the car for hours. A 15 hour drive is NOT going to take you 8 hours one day and 7 the next. They are going to end up very long days. Your 8 hours will become 11 or 12 hours. You can't drive AND attend to baby at the same time. You CAN fly and attend to baby at the same time.

What terrifies you about flying? You are safer in a plane than in a car anyway.
