I need residential addiction treatment, which lasts about a month. I am dreading being away from my 10 month-old. I understand that in the long-term, the benefits are overwhelming, but as you know (as mothers), the thought of separation is hard to bear. I really do need the treatment per my therapist and family. In about a week we will be apart and my mother in law will be keeping my son for a month. I'm looking for support/advice/encouragement or word from any mom with similar circumstances or history. Thanks so much.

Hi Lauren, I've never had similar problems, but I do want to encourage you. I believe you are doing the right thing first by doing what's right for you. I know for any mother it's hard to be separated from your child for any time period, but it seems that your child will be in good hands. You know that your child will be well taken care of and loved. Consider the pros of what you're doing for you and your child. In the end you will conquer and will be united with your child. God bless, and I wish you well!

Kathan, I appreciate the encouragement very, very much. Comfirmation brings peace and so does God's grace.
