hi i just found today that i have grade 4 low lying placenta (placenta preavia)...im only 20 weeks but my midwife didnt seem to think there was much chance of the grade becoming lower than 3 which still requires a section...i was just wondering if there was anybody out there who has had this as im afraid to google it as i always find that all the sites seem to put alot of emphasis on the very worst cases and can leave you feeling more anxious..any advice or info from real people who have expierence this thanks mums

he was born c-section.....for the bedrest advice when i had my younger son i was also on bedrest for toxemia and i fortunately had one of my family members staying for us for a time so she became the nanny/maid for the duration of her stay. Couldn't have done it without her!!

I was diagnosed with grade 3 low lying placenta with my oldest child at 22 weeks. The doctors prescribed COMPLETE bedrest for me. I could get up to go to the bathroom and anything else I needed help with. First of all if you are put on bedrest, DO IT! Secondly, that child was born at 32 weeks and was 3 lbs, 2 oz. He is now a 9 year old little boy that is about the same height as his 5'6" mother, completely healthy! The best advice I can give you is to know that your pregnancy is now high-risk and maybe find a provider that specializes in these types of pregnancies!!!!
